Cessna Selects HR Textron as Actuation Supplier for Citation Mustang Business Jet

- HR Textron (Santa Clarita, California), an operating unit of Textron Systems, has been selected by Cessna Aircraft to supply the Flap and Speedbrake actuators for the new Citation Mustang aircraft. To date, Cessna has firm orders for more than 200 Citation Mustang aircraft.

Bruce Finley, program manager aircraft controls at HR Textron, stated, “We are pleased to further our relationship with Cessna through this important contract. The Citation Mustang award broadens our experience in the application of actuation control technologies for the business and regional jet market.”

The Citation Mustang is designed to fill an enormous void in the turbine aircraft market and meet the demanding needs of tomorrow’s aviation environment. With two turbofan engines, the Mustang will provide more speed, range and altitude capability than currently offered by any single or multi-engine piston or turboprop aircraft.

“We are pleased to work with HR Textron for the Mustang flap and speedbrake actuators. We received proposals from numerous suppliers during our decision-making phase,” said Craig Weddle, Mustang Supply Management Program Lead, Cessna Aircraft “HR Textron was awarded this contract because of their thorough proposal and the established, mutually-beneficial relationship between our two companies.”
